I hate that saying. Everything taste better then being thin, cause being thin always means eating smalls amounts of vegetables and going, "yummy!" Yuck!
I am an eater. I am not ashamed of that fact.
I love food.
I love going out and finding even better foods.
I love to eat said food.
But...alas...this is my problem...because even though I hate that saying, nothing is as good as feeling healthy and eating right. I know this for a fact, for after a night of hard snacking and drinking, I almost always give myself a dirty look in the mirror the next morning. Now don't get me wrong, I love who I am, but I am different then who I used to be. Instead of wearing cute little outfits, I am opting for the big hippie skirts and the long flower girl shirts.
But I am done with that now.
So begins my adventure, to start being healthy and losing weight, while not eating yucky frozen food.
Here are my top three reasons to lose weight
1. I want to look good in skinny jeans and a tight tank top.
2. I want to be healthy and thus reducing my risk for things such as cancer in the future.
3. I want to have a baby, and know that the chances for me having a healthy pregnancy are better if I have better eating habits and am at a better starting weight.
Here are the top three things that are against me
1. I love food.
2. I love wine and beer.
3. I don't eat vegetables.
I have picked my weapon of choice for my battle against the evil fat monster, WeightWatchers and have started my quest.
My goal! (little steps at first)
To lose 10 pounds by August 11th (my 25th bday)
My starting weight
173 pounds.
YIKES!!!!
I told you I love to eat, just not the right things.
Wish me luck!

Good Luck! I know how hard it can be to try to eat right! I, too, am constantly battling with it. I love eating rich, flavorful food and drinking wine/beer/cocktails. Since moving to Chicago I have gain ten pounds. All I ever hear from my super healthy family is " Did you go to the gym today?" or even when I try to eat healthy " You should've bought orgainc!" It's like when it comes to the idea of health, I can never win. PLUS, I honestly think that a women with curves is so much more attractive than a rail-thin girl with no boobs. Why does our society make us ashamed of our curves!?! Anyways, I know I am ranting but just know you aren't alone in the struggle.
ReplyDeletep.s. When it comes to trying to get myself to eat veggies lately I have been baking them for 15-20 minutes in the oven at like 375-400 tossed in olive oil, salt, and pepper. You get a nice crisp on top and it actually taste pretty good. Even Ryan likes them and he doesn't eat veggies much either. So far we have done it with broccoli, sugar snap peas, and snow peas. Just a tip in case you wanna try, it's ok if not.=)
I have learned that I don't like cooked vegetables, the texture is all mushy and gross, but I can handle raw veggies much better. I have even switched to raw nuts. Don't go over board with the organic thing though, Phil work for the Dep of Arg. doing pesticide testing on Fl fruit and Veggies and even organic farmers are allowed and do use a certain amount of pesticides on their fruit and veggies. It ruined the whole thing for me, just wash it off and you will be find. I do try to do organic meat and milk and such though. And did you know that oreos are vegan. So the creme filling in oreos is not even real! I haven't touched an oreo since, it is gross.
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about vegetables is that your taste palate changes about every seven years. I like cucumbers as a child, but I don't like them now. I didn't like onions and peppers as a child, but I do like them now. I had to force myself to try new things because of my preconceived notions of what things tasted like when I was 8 years old. Challenge yourself to try one new veggie item a week (and it's okay if you hate it after eating it, but make sure you eat the whole thing to have the experience). Then you can cross that item off your list for the next seven years if it's not to your liking :)
